The “Good Luck” Paperweight was created in 2006 to inspire Hope and Good Fortune. It is a simple and stylish representation of the unique art of torchwork design that Sherwin Art Glass specializes in creating. Using specifically made canes of glass and a handheld torch, each petal of the four-leaf clover is individually applied, over various background designs. When melted in, the whole design is encased in clear glass, allowing the clover to seemingly float, three dimensionally, in glass.
“Cancer has plagued my family, affecting many members including myself. It was my initial concept that these paperweights reach the hands of children, especially those with special needs/illnesses in hospitals. It has since spread to be a gift to anyone that is suffering--sadness, depression or illness, etc--themselves or through a loved one. I would like these paperweights to inspire people to think positively & feel hope; to gain some peace, and take their minds of whatever pain, illness, or sadness they may be experiencing. The Good Luck ‘pocketweights’ stemmed from my Dad, who was dealing with Cancer himself, and he asked if I could create a piece he could carry with him at all times—like a “worry stone.”
Enjoy this paperweight and/or pocketweight and may it bring you Peace. With Love, Hope, Peace, and the Power of Positive Thinking we can overcome sadness, depression, negativity & hopefully the illnesses plaguing our children, our loved ones, and our world.
Good Luck!
With Peace and Positive Wishes for you!
